[edit]Uh, I don't really know where to put this or how to do it. Someone asked for references on Havlat's injury history... Most of the articles are no longer online. But...
November 25 - December 9, 2000; missed 8 games with a shoulder injury; http://www.sptimes.com/News/121500/Sports/NHL_briefs.shtml
April 7, 2001; missed 1 game with groin injury. Link is gone, think it was in the Ottawa Sun. Relevant text from April 11, 2001 article: But Daniel Alfredsson (wrist), Martin Havlat (groin), Magnus Arvedson (groin) and Phillips didn't practise yesterday. [...] Havlat, a candidate for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie, does plan to resume practising with the Senators today after missing the final game of the season against the Leafs Saturday -- a 5-3 Ottawa win.
February 4, 2002; missed 1 game (and Young Stars game) with groin injury. http://cgi.canoe.ca/Slam020201/nhl_ott-sun.html
March 19-21, 2002; missed 2 games with groin injury. http://www.canoe.ca/Slam020319/nhl_ott3-sun.html
March 30-April 13, 2002; missed 7 games with groin injury. http://www.canoe.ca/Slam020330/nhl_ott1-sun.html
October 30 - November 12, 2002; missed 6 games with groin injury. http://www.canoe.ca/Slam021031/nhl_ott1-sun.html
January 23-25, 2003; missed 2 games with elbow injury. http://cgi.canoe.ca/Slam030125/nhl_ott1-sun.html
February 20-27, 2003; missed 4 games with groin injury. http://www.canoe.ca/Slam030221/nhl_ott-sun.html
March 8-9, 2003; missed 2 games with groin injury. (no link available)
October 15-18, 2003; missed 3 games with groin injury. Link no longer available, but relevant text from a Chris Stevenson article: The groin started to bother Havlat in the first practice he had last week in Los Angeles. He had missed all of training camp during the contract negotiation, though he had played some games in the Czech Republic in early September.
Havlat said yesterday that it was not the same recurring groin injury that caused him to miss 12 games last season.
"It's on the other side," he said. "But it was similar to the other leg."
November 22-25, 2003; missed 3 games with hamstring injury. http://cgi.canoe.ca/Slam031123/nhl_ott4-sun.html
January 29-21, 2004; missed 2 games with groin injury. http://www.canoe.ca/Slam040130/nhl_ott-sun.html
Lockout year: missed a total of 5 games with Znojmo (3) and Dynamo Moscow (2) with groin injuries. Links, when available, were not in English.
Missed 59 games of 2005-2006 season with shoulder injury. But that didn't need references, I guess.
Prior to coming to the NHL, in the Under-16 Cup, he broke his elbow and it required surgery. No links, articles were not in English.
Anybody who wants to format that and put it in the wiki article, be my guest. I don't know how. (often known as joolzie) 68.248.8.168 00:13, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the links. I used a few of them to add a bunch of citations to the article. --Muéro 01:08, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Diacritics
[edit]I can understand the "á", but why is it on the name? Trust me, everywhere. (CBS sporstsline, yahoo!, NHL.com, the Blackhawks' site, etc). I looked and didn't have an accent on the name. Should we remove it? This went on for Dominik Hašek, too, but this one is more questionable. Hasek is the best 04:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- I found it on a few Czech sites so it looks to be correct. http://www.praguepost.com/articles/2006/05/17/changing-of-the-guard-for-czech-hockey.php http://www.sazkaarena.com/pg.php?id=M04S02A01&prid=5455&lang=2 --Feyer 20:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Concerning NHL european players pages, the idea seems to be 'let individual players pages decide for themselves, when using or not using diacriticals. Meanwhile, NHL team pages have decided to not use diacriticals. This 'gentlemen's agreement' seems to be holding (these last few months). GoodDay 22:02, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
