X SAMPA?
[edit]What is the X-SAMPA of this vowel? The article wrongly states that it's 3 but 3 is actually the unrounded version.65.102.39.177 19:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.102.39.177 (talk • contribs)
- No, it says the X-Sampa is 3\. The slash makes all the difference. Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 05:06, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
ɞ and ɔ̈ are the same?
[edit]I don't about anyone else, but to me [ɞ] and [ɔ̈] are not the same. [ɔ̈] would represent a phone somewhere in between [ɞ] and [ɔ]. If [ɞ] and [ɔ̈] were the same phone, what would be the purpose of diacritics?

- <ɞ> is a fairly new symbol, so works that are a little older tended to represent that sound with <ɔ̈>. Nowadays, it's less likely that they would represent the same sound, though I wouldn't be completely surprised if it still happened. — Ƶ§œš¹ [ãːɱ ˈfɹ̠ˤʷɪ̃ə̃nlɪ] 13:53, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- It just seems a bit like OR to me, which I thought was a no-no here.

- I suppose it technically is, though it's a pretty minor issue that many experts would agree on. — Ƶ§œš¹ [ãːɱ ˈfɹ̠ˤʷɪ̃ə̃nlɪ] 14:26, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Sound
[edit]Is there any recording of this vowel? Where might one find an example of it? — Knyȝt (talk) 10:03, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes there is, and it should have been included in the infobox automatically. I can't figure out why that didn't happen, but I've added it manually now. JudahH (talk) 23:25, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
