Welcome
[edit]Welcome aboard! It's always good to have another British Columbian hard at work here. Welsh castles are as good a subject to write about as any other. If you want a change, and go on to another subject there will be plenty to choose from when you're ready. It's important to keep it fun. ☮ Eclecticology 07:45 Apr 16, 2003 (UTC)
A belated welcome, and kudos on your contributions concerning Florence and Italian Renaissance art! -- Infrogmation 01:28 Apr 27, 2003 (UTC)

Glad you're happy with the Marriage Act editing. All part of the basic service here at the Wiki<G>. -- Someone else 21:05 1 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Hi Zannah. I see we joined the wikipedia at approx. the same time. A minor nit. You created a new stub for Finlandia vodka, when I had (probably definitely misguidedly) already included some cursory info on the Finlandia disambiguation page. As I can't cut and paste because of hardware and software problems at this end, can you do something about the problem? Preferrably :-D not just zapping the content. -- Cimon Avaro on a pogo stick 11:40 22 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Hah Hah!! frustration is not the word. Try "absolute mindboglingly discombobulatingly googolplexi-enumeratingly cursing not-funny". -- Cimon Avaro on a pogo stick 04:35 23 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Hi. Please leave the links to Vancouver, British Columbia open. How do we know the people you're writing about weren't mayors of Vancouver, Washington? RickK 01:08, 10 Aug 2003 (UTC)
All fixed. Apologies for the Canada-centric links - I completely forgot about Vancouver, Washington. I'll just blame it on being one of those days. Zannah 02:10, 10 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Hi. It's great to find another fan of the Johnson Johnson series. I admit I haven't read them all - they're very difficult to come by these days. Deb 09:51, 17 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Hi. you may (or may not) be interested to know that I've kicked of a Wikiproject page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Peerage, so discussion can be lumped together in one place :) Mintguy 10:37, 22 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Well, I'm glad Zannah is filling in some italian Renaissance painters too... User:Wetman (August 28, 2003)
What a surprise: another Wikipedian working hard to fill in much-needed gaps about the Pulp and paper industry, but would rather be writing about Welsh castles . . . while I find myself adding details about this industry, while adding information about a certain Welsh personage. My thanks for your contributions! -- llywrch 00:02, 11 Nov 2003 (UTC)
You seem to have created a large number of pages in which you confused Armenia with the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia in what's now southern Turkey. The Kingdom of Cilicia was populated by Armenians and ruled by a branch of the Armenian royal dynasty, but it was independent and was not part of Armenia. I've corrected a number of them, but I just discovered more and I need to get going. If you have time, could you please fix the rest? Just check the edit history of Mleh of Armenia to see what I did. Incidentally, we might also want to move the pages to less ambiguous titles (Mleh of Cilicia instead of Mleh of Armenia for example.) Thanks, Isomorphic 00:43, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I just created Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. If you're feeling really bored or ambitious you could run through and make appropriate links to that (I wish I'd done that to start with.) Otherwise, don't worry about it, I'll get around to it. By the way, do you know if those monarchs called themselves "King of Armenia"? The truth is that I don't know very much about Cilicia. It seems likely that they considered themselves successors to the Armenian state, and may have taken that title. Isomorphic 19:44, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Oh, and thanks for finishing the corrections earier. Isomorphic 19:45, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Wikimania 2006
[edit]In the course of informal discussions at Wikimania in Frankfurt the possibility of having Wikimania 2006 in Vancouver was raised. What makes Canada desirable for such a meeting is the capacity to draw delegates from the United States. For many overseas delegates, however, U.S. visa requirements make that country less attractive. All else being equal, Europeans see Vancouver as a more interesting Canadian city to visit than Toronto, the only other Canadian city to receive significant consideration.
Preliminary bids from various cities need to be made by Sept. 30, 2005. A short list will be drawn from those bids. Is there enough interest and energy to put together such a conference in Vancouver for August 2006? The people in Frankfurt put on a tremendous gathering, with a core organizational group of about a dozen people. Some 400 people attended from 52 different countries.
I expect that a North American Wikimania could be a little smaller, but we would still need a suitable facility. It would be good to know that such a facility is available for a conference; the type of youth hostel facility that was used in Frankfurt does not exist in North America. What would be the cost of hosting such a conference at UBC?
I'm looking for interest and commitment. To that end I am proposing a Vancouver meetup for Saturday, Sept. 24. If someone has a reasonably accesible place for such a meeting please let me know. (I live in Richmond, but something in the city of Vancouver would be more appropriate.)
I am spammiong this to all Vancouver area Wikipedians that I can find. Please reply to my talk page. Eclecticology 21:50:16, 2005-09-03 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Zannah! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 492 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:

On behalf of WP:WPWW, thank you for creating the biography on Carolyn Gold Heilbrun, who wrote as Amanda Cross. --Rosiestep (talk) 22:29, 2 February 2022 (UTC) |
