Finnegans Wake

[edit]

I have added a section for two appearances of Humpty Dumpty in James Joyce's Finnegans Wake, but an editor reversed it, suggesting that I should instead elaborate on what's already in the article about it. I thought about adding this for two reasons: first, there is already a section for Dumpty in "Through the Looking-Glass", therefore it should be OK to add sections discussing its appearances on other works of literature; and second, the references to Humpty Dumpty in the Finnegans Wake are pretty unique, specially in form. The inclusion of the quotes in the article could lead people searching the text of the Wake to this page and help them better understand the context of Dumpty's appearance in the book. Furthermore, the inclusion of the quotes could also help people interested in Dumpty overall to see its application on the wider idea of the Fall of Man. I would like to add back the section and elaborate on it. What are other editors' ideas about this?

There is a mistake where the century is mentioned. The article states 18 century but writes 1870. 1870 is the 19th century. 148.252.129.177 (talk) 09:24, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It says "published 1797" in the infobox. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 13:01, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Chocadoobie!" Kinder Surprise's andromorphic oviform mascot

[edit]

The advertisment features an egg-man sitting on a wall (in reference to the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty), in which he talks in gibberish, extolling the virtues of purchasing chocolate-covered surprise toys.

At first he says "Kinder, yibol shakey!" and shakes a chocolate egg.

Then, he says "Me unscrabbly!" and rips the chocolate egg open.

He yells "Chocadoobie!" and also yells "Double chocadoobie!" when he opens the egg up.

He claims something in the effect of "Bobswabbo", and opens the yellow capsule inside making a toy come out.

He says "Toy!", and then "Yodel yum and choco scrum with muggy pupwubbo toys! Oh, grubbly!".

The advertisement finally ends with him saying "Me scrobble now" and he then falls off the wall. The advertisement instead of enticing children to purchase brand name chocolate-covered surprise toys, has highly unsettling effects on their behaviour, and after receiving complaints is withdrawn from television scheduling. 49.185.137.168 (talk) 14:33, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Balconing Málaga

[edit]

Its suggest that Humpty Dumtpy is a reference to the traditional balconing in Malaga and the south of Spain. Ricardo Liberal Baztan (talk) 08:28, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
