Horace Mann School
[edit]Hi, Have removed your reference to sex scandel from this entry, as I can't find any external references. Please feel free to put back if you have evidence. Bit of a newbie here, sorry if I stepped on any toes...
I stand corrected - had done a quick google on the girls name, and didn't find anything - assumed could be someone with a grudge against her or whatever.
However, no reference to her name in the article or elsewhere, and I don't think it is right to publicise her name here, so I have removed it. Fair enough???
Is it better to move this discussion to the page itself - I was just worried you wouldn't get notification of my updates...
USN Images
[edit]I've noticed that you've added a number of images to USN submarines. There are a couple of problems. Firstly, there is no source information on two of them, so it is unclear what their copyright status is. Second, two of the images were actually of the wrong boats! You posted one image that was a great deal too old and one image that was a great deal too new. I've removed them from the pages concerned, but, of course, if there are not appropriate images at the pages for the correct submarines, since they are NHC images, then there would be no problem with their use there. - One more point, please use a talk page for messages like you left for me instead of a user page. That way the person concerned will get an alert that they have new messages, like this will produce for you. David Newton 12:05, 30 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Greek art
[edit]Thanks for your comments on Greek art. In what sense does it need to be wikified? I dislike over-wikification and I think it is as wikified as it needs to be. Adam 13:02, 9 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Immortal Sons of Northern Darkness.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Immortal Sons of Northern Darkness.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Thresher.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Thresher.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:44, 4 April 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 21:44, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
