Talk:Disco fries
Don't worry, the term "Disco Fries" is prevalent all throughout Jersey, North and South.
Aren't they called Disco Fries because one eats them at a diner after going out clubbing? It's like how one takes a "disco nap" before going out so one can stay up later to party without being so tired.
In what region are they called "Disco Fries"? I'm from the NY/NJ/CT tri state area and never heard of them. They're simply Gravy-Cheese Fries. --Discordian 10:13, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- Seconded. I've never called them anything other than "cheese fries with gravy" unless it's "mozzarella fries with gravy." RasputinAXP 20:15, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
I went ahead and removed the link to freedom fries because it's unrelated.
Every diner in northern jersey calls them disco fries.
disco fries are sex in your mouth and you orgasm when they reach your esophogus(?) cuz they have the sex cheese on them and they taste yummy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.214.99.206 (talk) 07:05, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
you mean to say that disco fries is layers of fries, gravy and cheese, while a poutine is a layer of fries, cheese curds and gravy? geeze, fast food is as picky as wine tasting 198.166.226.14 05:43, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]i think this page should redirect to Poutine instead of Cheese fries. they are mentioned on the poutine article and resemble that dish more than they do cheese fries, as disco fries invariably include gravy. the poutine article gives a superior impression of disco fries and their origin, as they are more connected with the gravy/cheese combination than a simpler cheese-only topping. i don't think this is a major concern so i'm going to go ahead and do it. ~ Boomur [talk] 23:32, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well- I kind-of have a problem with it. Just noticed the redir while looking-for the disco fries article. We don't eat cheese curds in New Jersey, and Disco Fries are not Poutine. I'm pretty sure we are not even allowed to say Poutine in NJ. Disco Fries are a part of North Jersey late-night diner culture, and 80's disco-history, so if I would have seen this, I know that I would have had a problem with the redirect.
