Petrouchka Chord

[edit]

I have made some comments on the Petrouchka Chord article and changed the article a bit. I would appreciate your response to the comments and changes I have made. Kntrabssi 18:48, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Beghilos, Calculator Spelling and Calculator words

[edit]

Thanks for merging the two articles that contained the main topic. I agree, it looks now much better and more substantively, well done. As for the second point in your message, I have to abgnetate. I only added the merging request "Beghilos <- Calculator Spelling", the other one ("Calculator Spelling <-> Calculator Words") was already there. In addition, I don't really care if that article gets trashed or wether not. In the german wikipedia, there was a similar but a whole lot longer list (not created by me), that has been shattered by the quality control with the justification "Wikipedia is not a dictionary". And I think this should be handled everywhere the same. --Saxbryn 18:16, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yatta

[edit]

Thank you for being gracious on the VfD for Irrational Exuberance. That's sincere, not any sort of sarcasm; it takes maturity and integrity to say "You've proved your point, I haven't", and it's a maturity and integrity that far too few Wikipedians have, I'm afraid. I wanted to thank you and hope that you continue with Wikipedia; if you have any questions, I can't pretend I know everything about Wikipedia but I'll be glad to share what I do know. Have a happy New Year. -- Antaeus Feldspar 01:57, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

"I am a moderator for a high-mid-level traffic web board, so I loathe the stubborn n00b as much as you. Sadly, many assume the worst of the new people." Sadly, VfD is where we usually see the worst of the old-timers and the stubborn n00bs; I'd tell horror stories but it would probably just depress us both. The n00bs just tend to be a little worse on VfD because they tend to assume "if the subject matter is something great, it automatically means there should be a Wikipedia article on it" -- and also that, like Usenet, those who can vilify their enemies enough to drive them away "win" the argument. -- Antaeus Feldspar 19:03, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Please go here and express your opinion on whether Category:Handbook of Texas citations should be deleted. As a Wikipedian in Texas, your opinion on this topic is particularly valuable. 66.167.253.162 17:30, 26 September 2005 (UTC).[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Clarissa cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Clarissa cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:P11 kasparov breakout.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:P11 kasparov breakout.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 17Drew 03:09, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Arrowsmith cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arrowsmith cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User: IMPORTANT WIKI ARCADE GAMES PROJECT NOTICE

[edit]

As you should be aware the wiki arcade games project has been marked inactive and with good reason. I am trying to increase the activity of this project but first I need to know who is still actually interested. So to find out I have put inactive next to the name of every person who has put them selves down as a participant of the project. If for whatever reason you do not intend to participate in the project anymore please remove your name from the participant list altogether. If you do but not in the near future leaving inactive next to your username will be helpful. Not taking any action at all will of course lead to inactive remaining against your name on the participant list. If however you have every intention on continuing in participating in the project please come change the "inactive" next to your username to "ACTIVE" so that it is clear who does and who does not still have interest in participating in the project. Thankyou for your time. --Hybrid360 (talk) 20:19, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Calling all active WP:NOVELS members

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 13:43, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:XTinkle Pit.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:XTinkle Pit.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Cleveland Public Library.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, I saw your comment about "funky number commas" in the edit summary of a copyedit you did on Nagpur. I agree the numbers should be fixed to match the system known throughout more of the world. But I thought I'd drop you a note with this link, which explains why that way of using commas often appears in India-related articles. My apologies if you are already familiar with the system. Notice

The file File:Petrushka chord.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
