Myspace
[edit]Although that is a myspace for the band, is not the official myspace of the band. I seen bulletins posted from the person and even had/have the aim screen name of the kid who made the myspace for them. For it to be listed on Wikipedia as a link is weird, because it was created by a random kid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.76.185.210 (talk) 22:31, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Here is the official myspace. Endlessmug (talk) 17:23, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
NPOV?
[edit]I don't see anything about NPOV on talk page, so I'm going to remove that stuff. --Jonathan Williams 23:22, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Formatting
[edit]I am having trouble with the formatting of the live photo. If anyone can fix the size and help choose a nice position for the photo that would be great. Also, many thanks to David Fischer, the webmaster at Lightning Bolt's official site, for helping me obtain permission for this photo in a speedy and courtious manner. Email him a thank you. He looks like business.
- I changed a few things around but I'm not really an expert so you folks can do with it what you want. The live bit really needs to be filled in as that's where the band are at their best in my opinion. --Jellypuzzle 15:17, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Where's the information on this new album "Frenzy" coming from?
-They posted on their webside that they would be releasing an improv record early 2006 entitled "Frenzy". - --Janster 00:25, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Erm, I think a small correction needs to be made to this article.
Lightning Bolt did play an impromptu set outside (in a garden?) at the All Tomorrows Parties festival at Camber Sands, Sussex, in 2004 (see pics at [1]).
However, John Peel (RIP) used to live in Suffolk, which, unfortunately, is a long way from Sussex. They may have played in the front garden of Peel Acres (though I don't recall them ever doing so), but the two events are not the same.

Deafness
[edit]I planned just to change the word "Only" to "Often" but on second thoughts decided that the comment was a little too close to POV and was not really encyclopedic in its tone or arrot.
In addition a source really will have to be cited, if this is correct then it certainly belongs in the article but if one can not be found I am afraid that it does not merit inclusion since it is unverifiable.—Preceding unsigned comment added by IndigoJones (talk • contribs)
New Album
[edit]The new album is being recorded from this week on (May 1st) and has no title or any further relevant information released about it, being that it most likely doesn't exist. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.73.140.86 (talk) 06:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC).
Funny story..
[edit]So, funny story: fortthunder.org is now a porn site. I went ahead and took it off the external links section. In the meantime, should we replace it with an archived version? (more of which can be found here) Drewcifer3000 16:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Bummer, somebody forgot to renew the domain. Go ahead and point to the archive, I say. Kellen T 17:03, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Cleanup/Expansion
[edit]I'm going to try and cleanup and expand this article. I've recently had alot of success with this article, so I'll probably try and do something similar here. Any help is of course appreciated, and I expect this to be a long process, so try not to mind the mess. Drewcifer 06:59, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Sentence
[edit]"The band's album art, album titles, and song titles are also generally done in a childlike, irreverent manner." Without a reference, this will be picked up by a reviewer. --andreasegde (talk) 10:19, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
GA on hold
[edit]- "The band signed to Load Records in 1997, and released their self-titled debut." - sounds slightly clunky, would sound better if you said what year they released the debut in (eg. "in the same year") (IMO)
- Reworded. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- "Bharoocha left the group in 1996..." - Why?
- Honestly I have no idea. I have read every thing there is to read about the band, and I haven't come across such information...Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- "Also during these formative years..." - eek, don't start a paragraph with "also"
- Definitely. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- That's really all the history info there is on the band...?
- Yea, pretty much. They're not exactly a front page kind of act. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- "limited-edition vinyl of 750 pressings, [6], - fix up commas/ref here
- fixed. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- In the recordings section you could go in more detail on the albums. Why successful, etc.?
- Again, Lightning Bolt isn't exactly a news-generating act. Take a look at the album pages themselves. Everything that could be said is, pretty much. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- ""The next Lightning Bolt album, Frenzy..." - is the bold needed here?
- The bold is from the quote. Figured I should preserve the formatting if possible Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- I would remove it, but it's up to you. dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 09:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- The bold is from the quote. Figured I should preserve the formatting if possible Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- "consists of Brian Chippendale's frenetic drumming, his usually incomprehensible vocals, and Brian Gibson's rhythmic bass guitar" - just refer to them with surnames, throughout
- Done. Though I left one instance of full names in the lead and in the history section. Since the lead should summarize, not introduce not info, etc. Drewcifer (talk) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Leave a note on my talk page when done. Cheers, dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 11:41, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Passed. And thanks for reviewing my articles :) dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 09:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

GA Reassessment
[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
- This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Lightning Bolt (band)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.
Promoted in 2008 and unfortunately has not been kept up to snuff. The lead is too short and doesn't summarize the article. The majority of the History section is a WP:PROSELINE that barely has any detail about their work, effectively rendering the article no longer "broad in its coverage" per the GACR. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 04:18, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
