[edit]Tnx for this interesting addition. In future, you may want to use 3rd person - is more formal and fits the style used on Wiki. And try to avoid any red links. Comapre this. Good luck with future editing! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 10:06, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah that's what I wasn't sure about. I spent probably an hour reading over all the help files I could find, and I could not find any references to whether or not I should use first/second/third person. I'll keep that in mind for future edits. Thanks!

Noon
[edit]I removed the "do not" you added to Noon, as I believe the opposite is true. If you disagree, would you care to comment at Talk:Noon? Thank you! — Knowledge Seeker দ 08:21, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Responded on the discussion page. Noah
Good job. Incidentally, there is a shorthand that you can use instead of piping links when the the word which you want to appear is an extension of the link. For instance, instead of time zones
you can just type time zones
(which gives time zones). Other examples are children
(children) or sadness
(sadness) but happiness
(happiness). Make sense? — Knowledge Seeker দ 08:54, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah I just noticed that a few seconds ago. Thank you. :) Noah
Thanks
[edit]Hey, thanks for your help and cleanup on the Xuqa article, I recently made the article's existence known to the Xuqa community and encouraged them to add to it, and I'm sure many of them are new to wikipedia editing, and may be a little lax with grammar considering this is late on a Sunday evening/Monday morning. :-) That CS Guy 05:07, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Dude, you're telling me. LOL. We have to remember to keep an objective view, and not to give opinions, etc. Because the last thing we want is for the article to be shut down. Noah 05:09, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, are you on Xuqa? If you are or were, I bet you woulda seen this coming as soon as you saw "Xuqa on wikipedia" on the discussion board... those are just the types of characters on there... but it seemed that most of the vandalism was coming from 1 or 2 IP's, how hard is it (or how long does it take) to get an edit-lock (perhaps for a specific article?) for a particular IP? That CS Guy 02:43, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, happy birthday 3 days ago!
Final Fantasy Tactics
[edit]I noticed you reverted my removal of external links in the Final Fantasy Tactics article. I know you may find it useful to contain a large depository of fansite links in the article, the Wikipedia policies, unfortunately, state in Wikipedia:External links that "on articles about topics with many fansites, including a link to one major fansite is appropriate, marking the link as such. In extreme cases, a link to a web directory of fansites can replace this link. (Note: fanlistings are generally not informative and should not ordinarily be included.)"
I also noticed that a lot of those links you re-included were guides; according to Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, "while Wikipedia has descriptions of people, places, and things, Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice ( legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes. Wikibooks is a Wikipedia sister-project which is better suited for such things."
So, I'm going to go ahead and remove the links again based on these policies. If have any more concerns about my edits, feel free to contact me or an administrator about the issue. Thanks. ~ Hibana 22:51, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if I sounded gruff about it. But yeah, I see what you mean about the actual article not resembling a guide rather than the links. I apologize for that. But as for the link you're referring to, I'm at a loss. I'd probably see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy on its inclusion. ~ Hibana 02:22, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
FFXII
[edit]Yes, I have to admit it is from the ULTIMANIA and spelt as fon Ronsenburg. But how do you explain that his name has 'von' and not 'fon', because if you HAD played the game AND put the subtitles to ON, there was a time when Vaan was to spread the word that "Basch lives" in Bhujerba. Just for reference sake, the line was: I am Captain Basch fon Ronsenburg of Dalmasca! Please, I am playing the English version of the game right now, so don't chastise me with claims of having bad information! The information is correct, it is official even if it is Japanese. Perhaps you may like to purchase the Brady Games guide? Regards :D 私はBluerfnです 09:38, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- And how unfortunate that i found this link to YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA8i8IaYEgw which has a cutscene on how they spelt Basch fon Ronsenburg, and more precisely in the time of 4:41. And I am going to edit it again. Regards :D 私はBluerfnです 09:38, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- "fon" is a mispelling in some early editions of the game. I purchased my copy about 2 weeks after the intial shipment, which has the error corrected. von is the proper spelling of the word of in German. fon in German means nothing. If you notice, the letter F is right next to the letter V on the US keyboard. It was a simple mistake which has been corrected in future versions of the game. I'll get that photograph to you as soon as possible. Noah 22:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, for one, of course I know my german, and yes, perhaps, they meant it to be von, thank the japanese for being so erroneous in writing german. For two, I really don't care anymore. Do what you think is right. I am going to play the game as it is. by the way, the original makers, square-enix japan put it as fon, they wrote it in the ultimania, which is their official guide. square-enix japan and usa can do whatever they want with it. bask in the light that is your win, and correct it all you want. i will be continuing my trek along the sandsea now. Regards :D 私はBluerfnです 22:58, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- But really, the so-called "old" version and "special... no... collector's edition" version have changes! A section might be added to the related article! Perhaps this is the prudent way, so both of us are in the right! We are after all playing the same game, only with some differences, and yet Square-Enix did not confound the so-called "old" version to be incorrect, and also being this "collector's edition" as the absolute canon! Go ahead, do what you think is right. As for me, I am enjoying the game as it is. Regards :D 私はBluerfnです 23:08, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- You argue that German is not spoken in Ivalice -- but neither is Japanese, but that doesn't stop the voice actors now, does it? Noah 15:10, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Too bad there's no voice acting in German language, right? And with those Genji equipments and katana and ninja swords in the game, I'm not sure you could say there's no Japanese. And as for my talk page reply - age doesn't really signify wisdom, you know. This looks more like a childish "war of words and who is right" to me, so I'm not going to participate. You can celebrate your experience of being part of Wikipedia longer than me all you want, Noah, seeing that you always want to be in the right all the time. I pity the audience who had to put up with the incessant, almost child-like changes. 私はBluerfnです 04:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I do not consider correcting facts a "child-like" change. Thanks for your narrow contributions. Noah 01:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Ivalice
[edit]I've reverted your world vs. region change. Despite what the official site says, the game itself makes consistent references to lands beyond Ivalice. I'm siding with the game as a better primary source. The website also could be talking figuratively, in the sense you could say "The world of medieval Europe" which is an acceptable phrase. --80.235.138.11 23:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- ...You don't think information from ingame counts as evidence from the creators? Well, I've replied on the talk page anyway. --80.235.138.11 12:54, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- The intro to the game also states the following: "A warrior takes sword in hand, Clasping a gem to his heart. Engraving vanishing memories into the sword, He places finely honed skills into the stone. Spoken from the sword, handed down from the stone... Now the story can be told... That is the story of a world called Ivalice." Now there is information ingame as well as direct evidence from the developers via the official website. Noah 15:10, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- still, the world "world" here can still mean realm. seeing as how the word "world" pertains more to realms then actually rotating planets. if it was the planets name, they would've used "a planet called Ivalice." i don't see why you're so adamant about calling it a world, when, if the game is about the world Ivalice, why can't we travel all around the world? we seem to stay, dare i say it, in a region of the world. you cant take everything at face value. saying "welcome to my world of paradise" does not mean i am actually welcoming you to a planet i own called paradise. its called common sense and context... -Xornok 00:38, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- yes, but you would never say "world", you would say "planet", hence all the old sci-fi movies say "I come from planet earth" etc etc because "world" does have too many ambiguous meanings and im not "throwing some interpretation at it to suit my needs", im throwing logic and experience... because i've talked to other humans before... -Xornok 06:12, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
