Page History

[edit]

This page was originally started by an anonymous user (12.146.8.100) in January 2003. In December, 2003 User:Ajd merged its content into the Rambot created article Amesbury (town), Massachusetts, and made it a redirect. Then in May of 2004, I deleted redirect and moved the current content of the combined articles back to this title. Lou I 08:47, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Quaker meeting house

[edit]

I just created a stub on the Quaker meeting house located at 120 Friend Street in Amesbury, by the park. If anyone has any useful information, I would love some help expanding it.--Alhutch 06:46, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

I notice the first paragraphs of the history are not very accurate. Terms are used pretty loosely, such as "settled." Not unexpectedly, the section is unreferenced. I will be rewriting some or all of that in response to the request for referenced material.Branigan 03:29, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

No mention of Amesbury and, 7 miles away, Salisbury, England either. Most likely both American place were named for the English places. 2001:56A:F03F:5200:6D06:8A8A:DF63:25A3 (talk) 06:09, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

May-June 2024 update

Hi all, I added information regarding the indigenous prehistory of Amesbury that included links to information about Salisbury MA history given that Amesbury was part of Salisbury until 1666. The edits were reverted by another contributor due to this misunderstanding. I am redoing the edits which also contribute more citations to support the narrative of the history section and organize the history section in a more logical timeline format. Please feel free to be in touch with any concerns. --Bargsnaffle (talk) 21:36, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
