I'm confused. I don't see Savonia on the map. -- Zoe

In Swedish, which also was the language of government, the name is Savolaks (sometimes spelled Savolax) and this is what is seen on the map. Among the Finnish speaking population the name was Savo and these two names can befound on top of the table and at the begining of the entry. The name of the entry, Savonia, is the Latin version of the name, which is also used for English. / Mic
