The addition doesn't technically violate WP:RY, but there are no other birth entries in WP:Recent years where the person was not notable at birth. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 21:43, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your point? The Rambling Man (talk) 21:51, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:IAR and the local consensus established in WT:RY suggests exclusion. Unlike certain other editors, I realize WP:RY is a guideline, and I am requesting consensus here to override the guideline in this instance. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 22:25, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, yes, as you keep saying, and we'll deal with your personal attacks at another venue, but you haven't actually said why this individual should be included. The Rambling Man (talk) 06:21, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
She's definitely not the only person who wasn't notable at birth in recent year articles; she's not even the only one in 2004 (Francesca Capaldi in 2004, Pierce Gagnon in 2005, Jacob Tremblay in 2006, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons in 2007, not to mention all the ones in 2002 and 2003). What is the local consensus for exclusion that you're referring to? If the guideline is be interpreted as only people whose births were notable, then we would have to make that more explicit in the guideline itself. -- Irn (talk) 17:07, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I was opposed to inclusion, as I don't consider her "internationally significant". But, without another point in the guideline or guideline discussion against her, I don't want to encourage arguments of the form: "She isn't internationally known." "She is." "Isn't." "Is." .... If noone else comes forward to agree with me that a specific clause of the guideline WP:RY applies, I'll withdraw the request. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 19:52, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why aren't you responding to the ANI request? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:54, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As I told you, I cannot easily copy diffs. (If I could, I would have pointed you to the three diffs where I told you that.) If you do not hide this discussion, I'll add it to the list of diffs where you are intentionally disruptive. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 22:46, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he does have an article, but both WP:NACTOR and WP:BLP1E suggest he shouldn't. I'm posting here to suggest that even if the article is retained, he may not have sufficient notability for this article. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 01:06, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo DS

[edit]

If anyone can find a good source about the launch of the Nintendo DS, PLEASE ADD IT. Cause it is 2nd best selling game console ever. (The first being the PS2, which came out in 2000.) And that is for sure something significant. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 21:23, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This shouldn't be included in the main article, it should be included in 2004 in video gaming instead, but I think this could be included in the collage if it is possible. MarioJump83 (talk) 17:04, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding some events

[edit]

I have removed these events previously in this article as they are domestic, but also the ones that shouldn't be considered in the article as they are related to the sporting events, which are rarely included besides Olympics or World Cup, and/or television.
