NPOV "reception" section needed.
[edit]The reception section is pretty POV right now -- I came away with the impression that the album was not-so-well received, when the rating collection in the sidebar ranks it as 4.5-5 stars from various sources, and there are reviews like this[1] floating around, which calls the album "one of the pillars of modern music." Can someone who know how to create good, NPOV "reception" sections for music (I certainly don't -- I'm liable to slant it myself and am not an expert in this album) fill out the section? Thanks! 24.199.65.167 (talk) 05:29, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Misleading quotation from Penguin Guide to Jazz
[edit]The edition of this book that I have (third - which is quite elderly, to be fair) uses the phrase "inflated light music" (p. 331) (not 'elevated light music', as is on here), and uses it to describe 'Concerto De Aranjuez' rather than the album as a whole. The article at present uses it as evidence that the album was well received, in fact the description is deployed as a negative criticism of the work. I don't want to renovate the reception section as a whole, but this quotation really needs to be changed. Bigbigtom367 (talk) 00:17, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Personnel
[edit]I have no idea what this means:
"Note: this list actually encompasses the total musicians used on several sessions in late 1959 and early 1960. The actual number of players on the pieces was 19."
Does this mean that the listing of 27 performers is incorrect, but we don't know which of the 27 are incorrect? Does it mean that 27 artists performed across all the tracks, but only 19 performed on any one track? Does it mean that 27 artists participated in the studio, but only 19 of them performed on the recordings that actually made it on the original album? Or across the tracks on the 1997 album? None of these guesses? Some combination of these guesses?
The possibilities are many. One can only guess based on the information provided. Clarity would be nice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.11.85.188 (talk) 13:14, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
