What are "eels"?

Under Trivia, it says the following:

Salmon, Steelhead, Lamprey "eels" and Sturgeon are staples of the Native diet.

I cleaned up and wikilinked everything except "eels" surrounded in quotes  I'm not quite sure what is meant by this. I commented it out for now. --Äþelwulf See my contributions. 08:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
