Any objections to moving this to tailfin era? -- Itai 18:44, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- That tailfin is an easier link than tailfin era to fit into article text (DWIM linking). —Morven 00:16, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)
- That said, it's not a major objection. I'd prefer it to tailfin (automobile) or any other kind of disambiguation. —Morven 00:17, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)
Another example of European fin-car: Moskvitc/AZLK 412

Dorsal fin, the predecessor of tailfin?
[edit]Is the dorsal fin of Tatra 77 a predecessor of tailfins? The aerodynamical function is the same. --Gwafton (talk) 15:17, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
"Comeback" section
[edit]Should vertical taillights really be considered a tailfin "comeback"? That's more of a Cadillac tradition than tailfin-inspired styling at this point. Moreover, there's no sources provided to back up the claims that Cadillac's looking to evoke the idea of tailfins with their taillight design - they don't really stick out or stick up. If they were trying to bring back tailfins, don't you think that'd be obvious in the car's body lines as well? Finally, I'd make the argument that Cadillac never stopped making cars with vertical tailfins. The section on this article claims that vertical taillights were brought back after 1999. This is simply untrue - the tenth-gen Eldorado (1992-2002) always had vertical taillights. The 7th-gen Deville (94-99) also had vertical taillights, complete with small vestigial tailfins! I'd say this section needs to be deleted or at least rewritten. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.231.224.19 (talk) 03:40, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
